Summer Fashion Trends 2011

As for Summer 2011, it is of no shock to notice the coming back of different looks or fashion that became the “in” thing years and even decades ago. With this season, you will be seeing different variety of trends from the past with added improvisations, fresh look, and much so inspiring others to wear the same but not be too much attached to it. A simple trip to your old closet, looking for key pieces will do the trick.

The following are the different looks that will set trend for Summer 2011:

60s. Key features include accentuate curves, silhouettes of the 50s and 60s, and promoting femininity. Good examples would be a maxi skirt that hugs the hip, hemline is below-the-knee to constitute an hourglass dress and full circle dress or skirt. For this 2011 trend, certain twists were introduced such as prints, fresh colors and fabrics that are light summery.

70s. The 50’s as well as the 60’s are back in fashion. Another decade that is coming back in full blast is the 70’s. Two concepts of the 70’s are brought to life: sophisticated glamour and bohemian inspired. Expect a lot of wide leg jeans paired wit beautiful and elegant blouses each day. For 2011 summer dresses, it would be like wearing something that is akin to shimmering water during the beautiful evening.

Punk. This is one trend that has a repeat comeback from last year. But this time it is already on its full blow and has greater influence. More punk inspired pieces will be seen this spring. However, it imposes a bit of danger to fashionistas out there, wearing punk fashion the right way and not the other way around.

Biker. Military fashion has existed for about a decade already. After 10 years of existence, it is now time to say goodbye to military and say hello to biker fashion. From cool accessories all the way up to biker inspired pieces of clothes.

It is quite obvious that there has been repeats, overhauling of looks from at least 3 most powerful and influential decades in fashion industry (50’s, 60’s and 70’s), and also additional hip look for women who want to do away with the girly-like outfit can now shift to punk or biker look.

The best part with the key looks for this season is that you need not to buy new clothing but get all those stuff from your grandma’s closet and add some new flavor, twist, or toss it over to create a new look without having to spend a fortune.

Bottom line, you need to get one entire look from head to toe. You can simply wear one piece that is 60’s inspired and match it up with a pair of wedge sandals. Or accessorize yourself with a vintage handbag from the 50’s or 60’s and a vintage necklace to top it all.

If you want to be more adventurous, go on and try the punk or biker inspired pieces of clothing but do not go over the top with it though. You might end up looking hilarious instead of fashionable.
